How to level up in your 30s?

There are a lot of ways. If you haven’t been taking care of your body by the time you’re in your 30s, it’ll start to catch up with you. You can get away with a lot in your 20s, but it compounds and ends up working against you. The longer you wait to take care of yourself and your body, the harder it is to start. By your 30s, health should be a major focus of your life, and everything will improve from there.

Once you get to your 30s, you realize that you don’t know as much as you think you do. For me, this is when I became a learning machine and realized that my actions have consequences.

Personally, I suggest finding the right partner and having children. They’re the most rewarding thing. It's number one and the next important thing doesn't even come close to the joys of having a family. You’ll be forced to level up out of pure love for your spouse and children.

Also, by this time you should have a basic understanding of personal finances. This way you have a clearer path on where you want to go and what you want to follow and chase.

What are 3 non-negotiables in your marriage and the example you set for your kids?

Number 1, is we put our marriage first. Above the kids, above the business. If we’re not happy everything else is on pause until we get on the same page.

Another foundational piece of marriage for us is honesty and integrity. No matter what’s going on, good or bad, we can bring anything to each other at any time. No matter what.

We also spend a lot of time talking about our goals and plans. Some couples think they want the same thing but it’s actually on different scales, in different directions and at different times. We move forward together, in the same direction and always check in to make sure we’re on track. We spend a lot of time on that as a family.

Another very important one, is that we don’t air our dirty laundry to anybody. Not family, not friends, no one. If there is an issue we solve it together, immediately. Sharing marital issues with people who aren’t in the marriage brings in a biased opinion and negativity.

Have you ever received feedback from comments/listeners to where it’s impacted your interview style?

No.

Do you travel with any help for the kids?

Yes.

What do you do to reset and not lose focus when you travel, fall off your routine, etc?

Once I tell myself I’m doing something, I do it. I’m like a terminator robot that way. I might crash when it’s all over but during the work trip, or whatever thing it is, I just get it done.

When I have to travel for work and do something outside of my routine I wrap my head around it and do it. Sometimes you don’t have a choice and you can’t stick to your normal routines. It’s important to not be so rigid with them, for this exact reason. I don’t beat myself up over falling off my routine when I have to.

When the trip or whatever thing I’m doing is done, I do a lot to reset. Along with the regular stuff I do more sauna and cold plunge, red light therapy, walks, exercise and supplements.

I want to live a non-toxic lifestyle but am overwhelmed when I’m on a tight budget. What are the priorities?

Once you start digging and doing research on products, it can get very overwhelming. One of the best tips from Darin Olien’s episode on The HIM & HER Show is to go fragrance-free. Simply buying fragrance-free products decreases your toxicity enormously. So that’s my advice if you’re just starting.

Then I recommend looking at your day-to-day life, audit your week and figure out what you use and do most in your home. When I started a non-toxic lifestyle I went with easy switches that made sense, and invested in the things I use every day. For me that looked like:

Swapping traditional cleaning products for Branch Basics.

Buying healthier, chemical-free toilet paper.

Using non-toxic cookware and bakeware.

Removing all toxic candles and swapping for TSC’s or other clean options.

Investing in proper air purifiers for our home.

Once I was feeling good about the things in my home that are better for my whole family, I started looking into cleaner makeup, skincare and so on. It’s a process and it’s not perfect. Go slow and do what makes the most sense to you and your life.

Travel size skincare favorites for the holidays?

Here are the products I always keep in my travel toiletry bag:

Caffeinated SPF

Easy high protein meal prep ideas for a busy corporate girl?

Food prep has helped me save time and stopped decision fatigue. Cooking isn’t something I like to spend hours on, so here are some things that help me get my protein in:

Force of Nature ancestral blend: cook a batch and store it in the fridge to add to salads, tacos, or eat it on its own with some raw cheese, honey, hot sauce and sauerkraut. More on my bowl of meat here.

Eggs: I like to have 3 poached eggs for breakfast and boiled eggs are easy to prep and keep in the fridge for a snack.

Protein matcha: Kroma makes the best Beauty Matcha Latte and it surprisingly has 11g of protein per serving.

Meat Sticks: I always have Lineage Provisions (use code SKINNY) meat sticks in my bag. They’re packed with protein and satisfying.

Protein Powder: If you have protein goals and finding it hard to reach them, a little protein powder goes a long way. I like Paleo Valley bone broth protein powder.

How to best prepare for birth?

Everyone has their own individual vision for the birth of their child. A couple weeks ago an incredible doula and birth educator came on the blog to talk about creating a birth plan so be sure to read her advice and check out her resources.

Personally, I think it’s important to have a plan and a vision for how you want your birth to go, but you also have to be able to pivot. Things can change in an instant and they may not go to plan. Be confident in your birth team, trust your gut, and be your own advocate.

Can you do an update on pregnancy products? Body pillow, supplements and makeup?

Here is a full blog post of all my pregnancy-safe products when it comes to hair, makeup, skincare, oral health and supplements.

At this exact moment, in this stage of pregnancy, my top 5 recommendations are:

Worm pillow

Lucy Bumpsuit (included in The Ultimate Mom Kit)

Skims bra

TSC Butter Brush

Mutha Body Butter
